Introducing innuendo

Hey internet, I need to say hello to you. I'm Brad Phillips, aka innuendo (now the title makes sense), and I’m going to be hanging out here for a while. This isn't the first time you may have seen me here has I was featured twice in the Community Spotlight before the game released. Now though, I'm fortunate enough to be able to join the team here at GW2Hub as a contributing writer.

To introduce myself to those who didn't realize I existed before just now, I wanted to wow you with witticisms and a heavy dose of self-referential jokes, but rereading LewisB's introduction from a while back, I'm struck by the fact his was really good, so I'll leave that domain to him and not challenge the throne. I want you guys to all get to know me though, so here we go...

  • My main is an Asura.

That concludes the list of relevant information about my gaming experience. As an Asura, it should be clear that I'm qualified for this work and will do an outstanding job at it.

Okay, so I can't turn the sarcastic side of me off long enough to not try and make a joke. Seriously though, I've been playing Guild Wars 2 since BWE1 and for the most part really loving my new Tyrian home. The game, and ArenaNet, are off to a fantastic start and I can't wait to see where the future takes the game (I'm coming for you Bubbles).

My first love is PvE, but I'll do anything competitive so you'll never see me turn down WvW or sPvP given the opportunity. I've got a soft spot for some light RP, but never anything that might raise any alarms.

My asura I mentioned up there is a level 80 mesmer. I didn't intend to have a mesmer main, since I played warrior all beta, but I really (really) like being the most awesome profession in the game, so I couldn't stop myself. I also have a stable of alts, so I've dabbled in every profession at this point.

What will I be writing about while I fuss around GuildWars2Hub? Great question and one we'll figure out at about the same time. I don't come to this position with a history of writing for other websites, so my ears, as they say, are green. For now, I plan on focusing heavily on some of the mechanics in the game, specifically ones that I feel aren't working as well as they could/should be. I'll be helping LewisB and Sardu bring you more news content (and faster), and I'll be dabbling in all sorts of other topics as they come up, and as I'm needed.

Other than that, I want to write what you guys find interesting. So reach out to me about things you want me to research, mechanics that you think need a spotlight shined on them, or anything thing else that is stuck in your brain that you want to exorcise. And just like Mythbusters, if you think I got something totally wrong call me on it. We only get better through trying new things and failing.

Okay, that was a sappy way to end this intro. I promise it won’t happen again.

p.s. Sanctum of Rall for life!

Wedge I'll be writing as much and as often as words fall out of my brain onto the screen.

Grats, innuendo, and welcome!  We look forward to hearing from you.

We do need articles about the mechanics of the game-- what mechanics? ALL of them. We do look forward, then, to your words falling from your brain to the screen (sounds like it could get very messy!)
