After nearly 5 years in development, ArenaNet have today revealed the launch date for the game we've all waited so long for: 28.08.2012.
In his blog post over on the official ArenaNet site, Mike O'Brian also announced that the next and final Beta Weekend Event is planned for July 20-22.
If that wasn't enough, they've also released a forty second video confirming the date. The only question remaining; have you got enough annual leave?

I'm glad they waited till fall to release this. A summer release for an MMO would be a bad choice. With this, they get not only the kids back to school and college, but also the end of summer activities so people are inside more. And on top of that, good exposure before the holiday.

Actually, being that I am a teacher, I was hoping for July, not after school has already begun and I have less time to play
. Still that is better than waiting until December.
If only someone would take pity on this college student and pre-purchase this for me. lol
