The six foods listed here are commonly proclaimed as some of the best foods that can be used in Guild Wars 2. They all address major needs in different aspects of gameplay ranging from normal PvE to hardcore WvW. Make sure you carry the right food into the situations listed so you are never caught struggling.

  • +100 Precision
  • +10% Critical Damage

This food is absolutely great for general PvE and especially if you need to do some map completion. The hard damage boost to critical chance (through precision) and critical damage allows you cut through most mobs with no issue. Even if you build yourself with high defense or condition damage using this for map completion is almost a necessity to get it done swiftly.

  • 100% chance to gain might when you dodge.
  • +40% to your Endurance refill rate.

If you were part of the Prime Hologram boss fight, the Twisted Marionette world boss or even just doing Crucible of Eternity you know that dodging is essential. This food is great to make sure you are never hit with those one-shot kill attacks and even give increased damage every time you do dodge. Use this during Fractals, heavily telegraphed boss events like Subject Alpha and Mai Trinn, or during WvW to give you a bit more survivability.

Sometimes you need condition damage to cut through certain bosses or for WvW. This food is for those times when you expect that your conditions won’t stick long and you need to load you damage onto the beginning ticks of your conditions. The added precision is to make sure any non-condition damage you deal may critical hit for an extra boost of damage and tends to synergize well with traits.

World bosses and structures can’t be damaged with critical hits and condition damage is just too slow. It is also a great staple for Soldier stat builds during WvW fights. You can’t go wrong with this food in most situations.

This food is used almost exclusively in long fractals, dungeons or world bosses by condition specialized characters. Use this when you know the fight is going to last a long time so that you can get more ticks of damage out of your many conditions. It can also be used in solo PvE gameplay by kiting your enemies and just let your long conditions kill them off.

An amazing food that really shines in weapons that attack fast. The cooldown on the life steal is only one second and steals 320+ health on that chance. This food is almost required in high tier fractals and can help during fights with Jormag and Tequatl.
