Beta end of month tweet

Yea looks like it'll probably be April 28th weekend. I hope they made the client available soon so there aren't thousands of people trying to download and install it all at once.

I had to download the full client twice for the last two beta events, and at least at that point it was extremely painless to do so. In both cases it probably only took a couple of hours. I'm sure there will be a heck of a lot more people downloading for the next one, but serving up game clients has always been a strength of ArenaNet so hopefully it goes smoothly for everyone. :)

Anyone else getting pretty excited for the beta weekend?  I mean obviously as a beta test we are supposed to look for bugs and test junk, but lets face it, we all want to play it :P

Maybe Haelyn should start up another countdown thread for the 28th.

I thought it would start on a friday, and end after midnight sunday. Is it 3 days or two? If 3, then its Sat to Mon?

How were the other beta weekends run? Friday afternoon to Sunday night would make sense to me.

I am pretty sure that they ran Friday to Sunday.

The last two events ran from early in the day on Friday until midnight PST on Sunday. So basically 2 1/2 days all told. I would imagine they'll stick with that for the public beta weekends, but we'll have to wait and see.

Well, I imagine that we would be hearing today (or tomorrow at the latest) if anything was going to be happening this weekend.  They would have to take into account all the people with sloooooow internet connections.

Well, word on the street is that it looks like there is another stress test this Friday.  If that is the case then the first public weekend event won't be this weekend.  The kicker is that if it is next weekend then it will coincide with the anniversary of the launch of GW1 and I might miss something cool in GW1 if I am tooling around in GW2. 

Do you think they would do a big GW1 event knowing full well that a lot of GW1 players will be in the GW2 beta? At this point it had better be the 28th...I've already told the wife that I will need some gaming time that weekend.

Well, ArenaNet have dispelled the weekend stress test rumors.

I wonder when they're going to announce the date (at least) for the first weekend beta.

So who else is constantly checking all the outlets on an hourly basis waiting for some sort of timeline?  That "sometime in April" tweet was rather vicious in its vagueness.

On a sidenote..Tera has its open beta set for this weekend so do you think that may figure into their holding off till the 27th-29th?

You know what would be sweet?  To celebrate the 7th birthday of GW1, ArenaNet uses the weekend to celebrate in game events and then on the 30th launches a week long GW2 beta event.

I don't mind, just that on the 27th i have a workshop I wish to attend for two hours. Otherwise, I'll play all weekend.

Finally! Now they just need to post with more specifics about the client and when the servers open.

While I am a little bummed that it is falling on the anniversary of GW1, on the hand it is fortuitous that my wife has to go out of state for a work related conference that weekend which means I can't go to work (have to look after our son) and that will give me some free time to check out the game a little.

Well yay for me. I get married on the 28th and we leave the country on the 30th. Looks like I wont be playing much(the wife will be in a hotel room on the 27th so i will have to go nuts then lol)

You get to play GW2, she gets married.

that is a interesting concept Haelyn. The only problem with that is he is already married and Ontario law kinda frowns upon that lol. Besdies all the tickets, hotel reservations, restaurants are all in her name for Disney so if I want fun in Florida I have to suck it up and miss most of the first beta weekend lol

I want a full report soldiers as I am still debating this game. Many of you will give me an honest report I know :D
