I hope the servers will be able to handle the player load. There are a lot of people anxious to get into the beta and it would be really a tease if the servers were crashed out.
I really want to experience the stories of the different races. I'll probably spend a lot of time leveling a race through a few levels then hopping to another one.

Well, the servers crashing under the load is all a part of the beta testing experience. And that is all ArenaNet has promised; access to the beta tests, there are no guarantees that the weekend (especially the first one) will be a stable, fun-filled frolic through the daisies. I am fully expecting there to be more than a few hiccups.
Although I doubt that will stop the forums of some GW2 fansites from descending to even deeper levels of wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Oh yea of course. Beta test =/= game. I'm speaking more from the point that there will probably be hiccups but I hope those hiccups are more on the side of testable things in-game and not server crashes.

The Stars Are Right! Thanks and praise be to Great Cthulhu for somehow I have managed to score Friday off (as well as the Sunday with the wife being out of town!) so that means that I can share the joy of server crashes with the rest of my fellow Hubbites!
I am taking similar actions. New baby may be sitting in my lap as I play (computer fan is a marvelous sleep inducing contraption). Using a boppy pillow keeps him in my lap and my hands free =)
Mine is 5 weeks old and hasn't quite gotten the hang of sleeping without being held or actively rocked. I think the first couple beta weekends will be tough...but at least by release he'll be OK just hanging out.

Now that we're within the working week of beta, is anyone else obsessively refreshing their email to see if the instructions for client install have arrived??

I'm getting emails from them telling me to buy the game if I want to try the beta....I already bought the game! Hoping they've not screwed me over somehow! ;)

I will fully be relishing in the gnashing of teeth at the morons who whine and demand their money back if there are any hiccups with the beta weekend.
No crashing will be unexpected.
Seven days to go.
I wonder if they will have overflow servers for their overflow servers?
If GW2 launches as smoothly as RIFT, they will heap another ton of gold on top of their already large hoard.
VI days to go!

I am going to try to work longer hours during the week so I can leave work early on Friday. We'll see how well the new baby cooperates...

I hope the Norn character creator has had some epic beards added. The ones that we have seen so far just aren't beardly enough!
No dwarves = no good beards.
LotRO had Dwarves and no good beards.
Warhammer had good beards. LotRO had crappy beards, because Turbine is a crappy developer.

Not me. It is nearly 10:30am so I will check it once more before going to bed, but other than that it can't wait until I wake up later tonoight.
Nope, I'm logging in and out to get some exercise while at it.
Seriously speaking, I only check mine every 30 minutes or so..
Are you a guardian? Let me introduce you to my Flesh Golem, he's getting a bit hungry.
Yeah, I don't check during the day at work. I am thinking it will come tomorrow..just my guess.

No emails for me so far.
3 days to go!!
I can log into my account, but the client download button still reads Not Available.
I thought it would have been up and running by now.
Do you log directly into Arena Net? Or is there a GW2 site?

Downloading now. Is the game under NDA still?
No longer a closed beta, so no more NDA. Go wild. :P
Awesome. Going to live stream it to a few friends this weekend then in order to convince them to get the game so I'm not alone :)
