The Luna Atra skill tool for Guild Wars 2 remains one of, if not the most popular, out of all those online. As a product, not only is regularly kept up to date but it's also incredibly slick and is probably one of the most attractive skill tools to use (can a skill tool be attractive?).
Spectator mode is a feature a lot of Guild Wars 2 fans have been asking about ever since structured PvP was first unveiled last summer. The latest editorial sent in from one of our community members, Innuendo, takes that one step further. Rather than simply joining the masses in their request for some form of spectator mode to be implemented, he raises the bar by outlining exactly how such a system could work to provide the best user experience possible.
So if you're like me and are eager to see a spectator system for sPvP implemented sooner rather than later, be sure to give it a read by hitting the shiny 'read more' button below!
A few weeks ago my esteemed colleague and galactic squid racer extraordinaire, Xerin, penned an interesting article titled To Market, To Market that focused on the metrics for success in Guild Wars 2. In his original post, Xerin addresses a number of questions that arise based on the lack of a subscription fee and other important factors:
"If a games success is now based on selling millions of units and a subscription based product is gauged on active subscribers, how are we to assess ArenaNet’s inevitable success? With no subscriptions, would selling 1 million copies or less be seen as a failure? Or are expectations even higher?"
Apparently this was a topic that resonated with our friends over at ArenaNet, as the newest post to hit the official blog addresses that very same subject.
Following the first beta weekend event, I noted that players took to the social play that Guild Wars 2 inspires much quicker than I had anticipated. It wasn’t so much that I didn’t expect people to play socially at all, but the industry itself has conditioned us for solo play over the past 8 years to the point where I was beginning to give up hope that we may never see another truly social MMOG for another decade.
For my latest brain explosion from the depths of my inner necromancer, we'll take a look at how this trend has progressed with BWE2, as well as some of the more team-focused skills and traits necros should be considering when building for group play.
In this weeks episode of Dolyak Delivery, we've tried to bring you a cross section of what the Guild Wars 2 community have thrown out over the last week, including podcasts, some videos and plenty of editorial content. So what are you waiting for? Read on...
Welcome to the second episode of The Last Whiskey Bar. In it, Sardu and Xerin square off in a bar brawl to the death in GuildWars2Hub’s take on the traditional point / counterpoint format.
This week we decided to tackle another major topic focused on structured PvP in Guild Wars 2: Which is the dominant factor when it comes to structured PvP: melee or ranged combat?
Xerin argues for ranged, while Sardu sides with melee for this round. Who will emerge victorious this week? Read on and then be sure to cast your vote in the comments!
