Death Shroud and Life Force Guide

August 12, 2012 - 4:21pm -- Sardu
GW2 Death Shroud Guide

Death Shroud is the unique profession mechanic for the necromancer, and can be thought of in a couple of different ways. First, it will temporarily provide you with 4 unique skills, so you could think of death shroud as an extension of your normal hotbar skills while in combat. Death shroud also increases the necro’s survivability while active since incoming damage will deplete your available Life Force instead of your health.

In this advanced profession guide, we cover all you need to know about the necromancer's unique Death Shroud state, and the supporting Life Force mechanic.

"Bringing you the latest supply of news from the Guild Wars 2 community"

It's been a busy last few days with stress test after stress test.  If you've taken part, you'll be pleased to know that there is another in a few hours from now (at 7pm GMT).  In the mean time, why not pass the time by sitting back and enjoying the delights of what the Guild Wars 2 community has been working on.

Guardian Guide

Guardian Guide

Guardians work night and day in Guild Wars 2 to protect what they hold dearest the most: Tyria and beyond. While not a tank nor a healer, the guardian is a class that focuses on defense and support, achiving victory through protection, honor, and virtue. Our guide goes over all the basics, from what guardians are and why you'd want to play one, to traits, skills, tips, and more.

Thief's Guide to Stealth in Guild Wars 2

One of the thief's most important mechanics in Guild Wars 2 is stealth. Attacking from the shadows is not only fun, but also smart in just about every type of combat situation. Everybody knows that thieves are not supposed to fight fair. This guide examines the various skills and traits that grant or impact stealth for the thief and the various weapon skills the thief can use while in stealth.

UPDATE: (Another) Stress Test Today

August 10, 2012 - 7:55am -- Barlow
GW2 Stress Test

There will be another stress test open to pre-purchase customers today (August 10th), this time running from 4:00 PM PACIFIC Time to 8:00 PM PACIFIC Time. The usual disclaimer applies, so keep in mind that this is indeed a stress test and the ArenaNet team will be actively working on the game during the event.

Given the rough start to the event yesterday, I somewhat anticipated we'd be seeing at least one more stress test prior to the head start weekend that kicks off in just under two weeks. Hopefully these back-to-back stress tests are giving the team plenty of data to help insure the head-start and official launch go off without a hitch!

For the morbidly curious, the original announcement for yesterday's stress test can be found below...

Necromancer Minion Master Traits

August 10, 2012 - 5:59am -- Sardu
Grenth's Grog on GW2Hub

Last week I dove into the many mysteries surrounding playing the necromancer profession as a Minion Master in Guild Wars 2. While that build offers a very unique play style, it's one that has typically taken somewhat of a back seat to those that capitalize on the strengths of Death Shroud, or the necro's ability to manipulate and spread multiple conditions.

As noted at the end of that column, this week I'm going to go over the traits that focus wholly on minions with a few key things in mind. First, it will give prospective minion masters (MM) a better understanding of which trait lines they'll need to invest in. Secondly, it will help give you some baseline understanding of any inherent strengths of playing an MM build. Finally, some of the information contained here will serve as a "sneak peak" of the Complete Guide to Minion Mastery that I'll be publishing in the near future.
